PDR Technician: Beat Your Competitors By Using Their Ranking Keywords

keywords2

Keywords are the absolute foundation of the success of your website. Your keywords are what Google uses to rank your site. So you have to ask yourself, what is it that your competitors are doing to rank so high and you’re still dragging behind? Learn how to find out what keywords your competitors are using and how you can use that data to improve your search engine rankings.

The best way to determine what keywords your competitors are using is to take advantage of keyword research tools meant to extract keywords from their pages. You would copy and paste your selected keyword into a search engine such as Yahoo! or Google to see where they show up. Beyond this you could try the easiest road to finding this information out is to see what Google thinks they are by using the new interface to Google Keyword External tool (updated to look and act like the version supplied within Google AdWords.) the new keyword tool allows you to select languages, local search targets and more.

You can use the following steps to discover keywords from competitor domains:

1. Access the keyword tool and log in.

2. Insert your competitor’s web address.

3. Review the listings, and scroll down to view all and see the collection of keywords including ad group ideas.

From this point you would want to pick the keywords that have (exact) search counts and that closely match your site as a starting formula. While you are entering some of these keywords into Google, you’ll get varying results for paid results. This will assist you in seeing how commercially successful a keyword is. Simple, the more ads, the more you can consider it to be a cash cow. You can take this a couple of steps further and input top keywords into spyfu.com and keywordspy.com to discover more detail such as potential paid campaigns and their resulting landing pages. This will give you an overall view of your competitor’s use of keywords, pages and overall strategy.

Follow me to Part II and I’ll give you some more simple tips on how to develop your money making keywords.

PDR Technicians: Show And Tell ALL!

You need to make every effort to have your customer’s watch what you are doing. Show and Tell is the best business practice that you can add to your long list of marketing ideas. If your customer takes an interest in what you are doing then be sure to include them when you are using your light to see the dents, or any other practice that you are doing. If they are even slightly interested, then you have just taken on a salesman. Oh sure, you didn’t intend to do that, but you will never have a more dedicated customer than you will have with one who was made a part of and understands the work you are doing. If they understand it then they are more likely to go out to their friends and share their experience. They will be well equipped with the knowledge you have given them and be able to explain it in depth. Be careful not to get so caught up in conversation that you are taking twice, even three times, longer in completing your work. In spite of the fact that customers are impressed with the sharing, they will quietly judge you if you take up their entire day. For you? Time is money! It’s a fine line but you will need to learn to walk it very quickly to be successful at this.

The fortunate end of this type of working is that not only have you gained a loyal customer but in some cases, you may have gained a friend. Make this technique a part of your marketing strategy and you will see your business boom. Customer’s are curious, take advantage of that curiosity and tell them what they want to know. Why not? Questions? King of Car Care.

PDR Technician: Women Customer’s, An Untapped Demographic

The PDR Industry is not just for men! For some reason PDR Technicians gear all of their marketing and printed information towards an audience of men. You couldn’t be more wrong. Women in the automotive industry have moved up to the 50% mark. This means that gone are the days of the pretty woman staying home and letting the big burly man take care of man things, like car restoration. Women are worth more money than they ever were in the past and corporations paying men more for the same job done as the woman is doing, are being called out and forced to change their perception. This is a new world people and women have become empowered, and rightfully so.

Think long and hard about this before naming your business if you haven’t already done so. Using names like Big Man Jake, Dent Stud, Dent Man, Dent Terminator, Studly Dent Remover, or more should be avoided at all costs. Women aren’t impressed by these terms and will usually pic someone with less make testosterone. Men, generally speaking, tend to talk down to women. Yet another thing you should avoid with your life. The one thing you can count on from women is that there is nothing that passes their radar. Absolutely nothing.

Making a woman feel stupid and assuming that they have not done their homework before contacting you is a huge disconnect. They research, study, and decide long before they take the time to contact you. Considering this should be your first response. In addition, and I really hate to mention this, women are not sex objects to be stared at by the likes of you. Don’t do it. Finally, never show up to any job in sweats and dirty clothes. You are a professional, dress like one.

Questions? King of Car Care.

If You Have a PDR Business; You Should Be Blogging Part 2

Blogging is as important as any advertising that you could possibly do. You don’t have to pay anything to do it unless you hire a firm to create a website for you. You can contact a Marketing firm like 3rd Street Marketing to design and host your site, and they will give you a very professional look without you having to lift a finger. You could also opt to create your own but be aware that if you don’t know what you are doing it will look like a child did it, and you don’t want that.

When considering your content, it’s easier when you think of it like food groups. Let’s say that on Monday you write a post about the services that you provide. This is the meat of your business. If you’re a PDR Technician and have taken the Total Recon package, then you have a lot of meat to offer. Your next post should be on the vegetables. The vegetables post would be about case studies or basically helpful information. Your grains would be your How To posts. For instance, you could talk about the fact that it is Spring Cleaning time and provide a checklist of the things that a client could do to get their car ready. This list would of course include your services that you can provide them and a coupon code that can be applied to their order with you.

Next you have your condiments that go with your food groups. In this type of post you will be providing helpful links or even offering your opinion on products or services. You could even write about hailstorm damage. Finally you have your dessert, for some of us this is the main meal. But for the purpose of posts, this would be a light post. You could use humor, like the funniest video you saw this week.

The point is to stay engaged with your clients and the public. If you have any questions just let us know, we’re here to help. King of Car Care.

If You Have A PDR Business; You Should Be Blogging

As an entrepreneur, you should be just as invested in blogging as you are in driving around trying to drum up business. This is the one place that you can continue developing your customer base after the First job has been done. Cars get dents on a daily basis. Your client may feel that they have had all of the work they need, but the truth is “Life Happens.” Your client may have been hugely happy with your work, but will they remember you in a year or so? This is where blogging comes in, your posts are a constant reminder that you are alive and ready to jump to action anytime they need you.

How do you do it? Each time you take on a new client, you will be getting their information, why not also get their email address? You will need to let them know that they will be receiving periodic emails with interesting blogs and specials that they want to take advantage of. You can put this in your disclaimer contract that they will need to sign prior to your starting the job.

Blogging is the very foundation of your business. It’s your advertising. Even if you don’t think that anyone is reading your information, more often than not you are wrong. So you are probably wondering what you should blog and how to come up with the content that people will stop and read. The first thing to remember is that you want to remember to always check your spelling. You would be amazed at how many blog posts are out there that have either a misspell of words or they make absolutely no sense. This is in many industries, but I have to be honest, most of the blog posts that I read in the Paintless Dent Repair Industry are annoying because of this.

Follow me over to the next post and I will help you figure out what to write. If you have more questions, you can always contact us at King of Car Care.

It’s Not Too Late To Set Some Goals: Become a PDR Technician

It’s never too late to set some goals, even if you have a habit of never accomplishing them. Maybe you’re setting goals that don’t really interest you, or goals that you know darn well you will never complete. Those that set goals and achieve them are not in the norm. They are, in fact, few and far between. Is it enough to set a goal and never achieve it? You set yourself up for failure every time you miss the mark. Therapist’s couches are riddled with people who feel that they are failures, why would you want to join them?

Well, you don’t have to. If, for example, your goal is to make something of your life, or to find a job that you truly enjoy, you can accomplish that goal. You just need to be realistic about your expectations. Saying that you will be a millionaire by the end of the year is a goal you will never reach, unless of course you win the lottery. You have no guarantee of that either.

So let’s work in the real world, if you have a love of vehicles and find them intriguing, perhaps you even enjoy going to car shows and talking with enthusiasts, you could make a career out of reconditioning those loved vehicles. Becoming a PDR Technician could not be easier. From the moment you step foot in a class, you are led down a whole new career path that you can actually be passionate about. You become a part of a trade that has so much more room for growth and a part of a community that understands your goals and will help you to reach them. This is the very best investment that you can make in your life, and you will have become a PDR Technician withing one month. For you this means that in no time at all, you will have achieved your goal. You will have your own business, making your own money and on your terms.

You can become everything you ever wanted to be. If you haven’t signed up for classes yet, contact us at “King of Car Care”, we’ll have you in classes in no time.

As a PDR Technician; What Do You Do With Unhappy Customer’s?

As a PDR Technician you can hope that all of your customers will be unimaginably happy with your services, but what if their not? How will you handle that? Will you choose to dodge their calls? Or will you deal with it? As hard as it may be to do, you will need to deal with it. As a part of your service, you should be offering an unconditional guarantee on all of the work that you do. You should also be in the habit of taking pictures prior to your working on their vehicle. Close-up and panned out for easy identification of where the damage was prior to your touching it. This will help you if you should be taken to court. You will also need to make sure that before you begin to work on a vehicle that you have registered your business as an LLC. This means that you have Limited Liability and you personally cannot be sued, only your business. Your investments in your home, vehicles, and any other recreational property is safe and can’t be taken from you.

So now back to your unhappy customer, call them back immediately. If you don’t contact them immediately you are adding fuel to a very big fire. It will kill your business and they may go to the BBB and report you. That would be even worse than being taken to court in my opinion. Most people are becoming very smart shopper’s and will automatically check out your company before letting you come to their home. Wouldn’t you do the same?

If you always put yourself in your customers place then you will have empathy for what they are feeling and how they need to hear from you immediately before the whole situation escalates. Give them the same service that you would expect and you will always come out on top and be appreciated for your commitment to your business. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at “King of Car Care”. We’re here to help.

Entrepreneurial Traits: Do You Have What It Takes? Part 8

Breaking All The Rules

In becoming a PDR Technician, the rules that you have broken by the time you finish and graduate, are numerous. You have dared to to believe that you can go out into the world and make a difference in this industry and that you have something unique to offer your customers. You have become an entrepreneur and this fact alone puts you into a minority. According to a Babson College Report, only 13 percent of Americans are entrepreneurs.  It’s hard to believe but it’s true. Only 13% have dared to go against the flow and create a road of your own. It could be likened to migrating birds or fish and one bird or fish turning away from the group and going to its own direction. It’s almost unheard of much like only 13% of Americans becoming entrepreneurs.

Having reviewed this example should help you to understand why there are naysayers, why your parents are worried for you, why your wife thinks that you have lost your mind, and why you are losing sleep at night from pure, raw fear of failure. This is the biggest decision you have ever made outside of getting married. If you’re the bread winner in your family all of these things are magnified. As an entrepreneur, you need to focus on what you are accomplishing, not on what you haven’t accomplished. You will need to be disciplined and diligent in your marketing efforts and understand that most business doesn’t come to you, you have to go to it. Be creative in how you accomplish your goals. As an example, as a PDR Technician, you could make a quick half sheet flyer and put it on the cars in a shopping center parking lot, offering your services and say that you are here now if they would like a free estimate. Great idea right?

“King of Car Care” has many simple yet profound ideas. Just give us a call, we’re here to help.

Entrepreneurial Traits: Do You Have What It Takes? Part 7

Flexibility

In business, flexibility is absolutely required. As a PDR Technician, you will have changed how you manage and deliver your service many, many times before you found your groove. If you are a graduate of PDR Technology and have been for quite a while, then you will know that you have attempted many types of advertising and methods to reach your customers. As you grow in your business, your business grows with you. Hopefully you have kept your flyers and other samples of your efforts so that you can take a look back for years to come. It sets an environment for having a little laugh, and will make you marvel at how far you have come.

Sometimes, in business, you will have challenges that make you have to take a completely different direction. There are numerous entrepreneurial examples of this exact challenge. Take Steve Jobs for example, how many times must he have had to make changes to stay ahead of the industry that he in fact, was a leader in? Not only was he looking for buyers for his end product but he was also heavily seeped in finding investors to support the design end. With investors comes opinions and with opinions and created structures comes a constant influx of change. The company eventually evolves into a monster or something very successful. As with Steve Jobs, his investors imposed too many restrictions on his creativity that by the time it was all said and done, the original team, including Steve Jobs broke away from the business that became a beast.

Of course in the case of Steve Jobs, things ended up okay but had it not been for his constant conditioning to accept change for what it was, he could never have survived the continued change that became the very definition of Apple.

You too will have growth in your PDA business, it will be far less painful if you simply choose right from the beginning to accept that change is inevitable and can be worth every stretch and bend made if you allow yourself to be flexible in its growth. If you have any questions, we here at “King of Car Care” are here to help. One more trait to go, hopefully you have followed all of the traits, and they have been helpful.

Entrepreneurial Traits: Do You Have What It Takes? Part 6

Self-Belief

As a PDR Technician, you will have to be confident in the talent that you have just learned. In order to overcome the doubters, you will have to deliver on the product and services that you so proudly are sharing with others. This pressure can cause anyone to suffer with self-doubt, which is polar opposite of the topic with which we are speaking. Self-belief comes from practice and practice comes from the actual work. You will get plenty of hands-on experience when attending “King of Car Care”, but true self-belief will come when you are on your own and don’t have the comfort of having your trainer standing behind you ready to help with any errors you may make.

You will need to muster up the self confidence needed to take your first job, only then will you begin to grow the self-belief lurking deep within yourself. Whatever you do, don’t paralyze yourself with fear. The steps that you take going forward, will keep you from going backwards. Don’t even consider squandering away your education. Stick with and push through. Your efforts will be rewarded threefold.

With self confidence comes risk. Risk, with a positive outcome, cannot come without self confidence. One begets the other. You need to set your pace, name your game, own your new talented self and get busy taking one customer at a time and changing the negative thoughts and the old stuck in the mud methods of dent removal. What you have to offer is wallet changing. More often than not, your fees are far less than even the customers insurance deductible. It’s staggering what you are introducing into the mainstream and you will change the hearts and minds of those stuck in an antiquated past mind-set.
