Entrepreneurial Traits: Do You Have What It Takes? Part 4

Tolerance of Uncertainty

This is a trait that is going to take every last ounce of braveness that you can muster. There’s nothing to fear but fear itself will become your daily/hourly mantra. You have to rise above the fear and make your mark in this huge world of ours. If you are not willing to face your fears and climb out of its paralyzing power, then becoming an entrepreneur may not be for you, as this is not for the faint of heart. Becoming an entrepreneur requires a sense of presence and a self-assured existence. You have to know that there is just no possible way that you can fail.

You must learn to be tolerant of uncertainty, tolerant of ambiguity, and tolerant of that which you cannot touch. Your vision has to be set, and this in spite of what tragedy may be happening around you. When life kicks you in the guts and you almost have not even the desire to breathe, this is when you call on that strength buried deep within. You must know, without a shadow of a doubt that no matter what, you’re staying, you’re unmovable, and you’re going to see this through to completion.

There are many stories of entrepreneurs who have endured great pain and loss and still succeeded. There is one in particular that I heard that has stuck with me for many years.  You know that saying about how there is always someone who has it worse than you? We all know it, and yet, when we have our trials, that is the farthest thing from our minds. This entrepreneur that I am speaking of is a woman, she lost her brother suddenly and soon thereafter her husband as well. Seeped deep in sorrow in a way that many have never known, she found the strength to stay with her failing business and within two years cleared $98 million. You must dig deep.

If looking to speak to someone about your business as a PDR Technologist, why not go back to the school that helped you get to where you are.“King of Car Care”, we’re still here for you.
