If you are a PDR Technician, then you may feel that you don’t need to have a blog, especially if you already have a website (which you should). Creating a blog can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Building a blog benefits both you and your business. It keeps your clients in the loop on any updates, specials or industry changes that affect pricing or offers. It also makes you appear more human, approachable even.
It is my intent to provide you with plenty of advice that will help you get through every stage of building a blog and beginning a journey with your clients that will prove to be both meaningful and profitable.
By developing a business blog you are speaking to not only your clients but to the industry declaring your position as an expert. When writing your blogs, make them informative and make them smart. Meaning, don’t just shoot the breeze about family and friends. This is your business and you must keep it professional by choosing the right words, by checking your spelling and by sincerely considering what your clients would want to read. Ranting and dogging are not considered professional.
Following are some things that you can do to keep your blogs relevant and promote your business to the point of success:
First: You need to figure out what you are blogging for. Sounds simple I know, but if you are not terribly interested in what you are blogging about (which by the way should be a warning that you are in the wrong field) then your blogging will have no energy and will have only a fraction of your attention. You need to be passionate about what it is you are blogging about. Ask yourself questions like “What do I want from a blog?”, “What is it that I want my clients and colleagues to get out of it?” and then finally “Why am I bothering to even start a blog.”
